UPDATE: What Is Internet Stalking?
On June 21st, 2008, I started receiving hate e-mails from pachebo@aol.com. Since the conception of the Lisbon Reporter in early July, the editors of that site have also been receiving hate e-mails from pachebo@aol.com written to me as if I was the editor. The editors of the Lisbon Reporter have forwarded me all e-mails to add to my collection of evidence. Trust me, I would much rather not deal with this. I haven't received any mean comments since I suspended the anonymous commenting on my blog and I haven't received any mean e-mails except from this one person. I ignored them initially but now I am starting to get annoyed because they are just too personal for my comfort level. I paid close attention to motive and opportunity. I also paid close attention to the content. I am posting this information in an effort to get this to stop. I don't want any trouble. I just want to be left alone.
I did conduct a google search on "internet stalking" and here is the legal definition:
"Any repetitive or unwanted contacts, including e-mails, chat room postings, or blogging, may be considered internet stalking. I have represented numerous individuals in such cases. Normally a Cease & Desist Letter from an attorney brings it to a stop."

"T" POSTED THIS STORY ON THE RFP WEBSITE AT 10:18 PM, "BUG" POSTED HER COMMENTS AT 10:20 PM, AND THE LAST E-MAIL FROM PACHEBO@AOL.COM WAS SENT AT 10:22 PM. THIS CONFIRMS THAT THEY ARE NOT ONLY INVOLVED WITH THE HACKING OF MY WEBSITE BUT ALSO WITH THE STALKER. WHAT IS THE COMMON DENOMINATOR? GETTING CAUGHT STEALING FROM OR DECEIVING THE TAXPAYER.
Posted by BUG as in VINTAGE BUG: I can only speak for myself (unlike you-know-who) but I had nothing whatsoever to do with hacking her site. What she has posted is an outright lie and I want her to retract it and apologize for her untruths against me. My posting at whatever time confirms nothing except that I was going back and forth between sites. Anything wrong with that? (Yea, maybe it shows how silly and neurotic I can be, but she has no say in that.) And what is this "common denominator" thing about? It has nothing to do with me. She gets away with writing whatever she wants. Isn't it time for her to stop this crap?

I just got off the phone with my lawyer (don't worry, it wasn't ALL about you, since he is also a friend and we have OTHER things to talk about), but he was laughing a lot about how you seem to have dug your own grave. Your deletions didn't quite go undetected. (Nor has anyone else yet seen your own expletive-laden emails to me .... see? i am a gentleman! I don't use the F word).
He's suggested a public apology from you both on your own site as well as on the RVFP. I told him that that was highly unlikely, but thought , to be fair, I would pass his suggestion on to you.. At this time, neither of us (me or my lawyer) are looking at monetary compensation. It's not worth it (at least to me). But you might want to think twice about playing so dirty (as my grandfather said, "if you play in s**t, , you're gonna get dirty").
As Harry Truman said ... " if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen".I would change that, though, since i do think you have a lot to offer , so my paraphrase would be " if you like the kitchen, be nice when you are there".

The fact that neither site publishes postings (beyond obviously self-written ones) is not my problem.

Nevertheless both sites "gladly accept" responses, yet when they receive them, the sender is attacked in a most public way.
I DO GLADLY ACCEPT LETTERS TO THE EDITOR EXPRESSING VIEWS. I ALSO RESERVE THE RIGHT TO POST LETTERS ANONYMOUSLY BUT ONLY AFTER LEARNING THE TRUE IDENTITY OF THE WRITER TO VERIFY THAT THE INFORMATION IS FROM THAT PERSON. I ALSO DO SOME FACT CHECKING. ASIDE FROM MEAN ANONYMOUS COMMENTS MADE WHEN I ALLOWED COMMENTS ON MY BLOG, I HAVE ONLY RECEIVED MEAN E-MAILS FROM PACHEBO@AOL.COM.
A real editor wouldn't behave that way but would have the guts and integrity to allow opposing views in the first place.

People who publish wild accusations, deliberate untruths and conduct personally motivated public witch-hunts, should not expect to proceed completely unchallenged. We still live in a democracy.
